About Schizophrenia:

So, if you didn't know about schizophrenia here's a short page with the basics and what it looks like for me!

What the heck is it!?

So basically in simple English Schizophrenia is defined as a brain disorder that effects the way that a person thinks, acts, responds to others and see's reality.

So I'll break it down even further:

(Here is a short list of the things sufferers deal with)

Thinks:

The way a schizophrenic's brain works is different that a 'normal' brain. Information is not processed or relayed in the same way. So if two people were looking at a semi-crowded room with moderate noise one might say "This room is barely crowded and relatively quiet" while someone with schizophrenia might say "This room is crowded, everyone is looking at me and whispering- most likely about me."

Acts:

Since people with schizophrenia see the world differently they may respond to things that other's can't see or hear in any sense. Often schizophrenic's hear voices, see things that aren't there and may even feel things others can't. These are referred to as hallucinations. Some are auditory, (What you can hear), Visual, (What you can see) and Tactile, (What you can feel). I experience all three and can't always tell the difference between them and reality.

Responds:

The way someone with schizophrenia may respond to other people is usually pretty odd. Since they see things that others can't, experience things that others may never experience and do so on a regular basis its hard to relate with others. Some may find it hard to have a conversation, listen to a someone for too long, interact socially, explain their feelings, make eye contact with people and respond in the way that most people might if they were considered "normal".

See's Reality:

I already mentioned some differences in what a schizophrenic may see, hear or feel but reality is often way more distorted than that. Some see things or hear things all the time so their view of the world may be completely different than what you might see or hear at the time.

So what does it look like for me?

Its taken me a long time to realize what is real and not real. On a day to day basis I still have trouble figuring it out and sometimes I deny the difference whatsoever.

But at the end of the day I'm like any of you, I want to enjoy life, I want to reach out and I want to show others what its like to live the way I do.

I see hallucinations pretty much all the time. Like I said, its often pretty hard to determine what's real and what's in my mind. There are things I see that don't make sense and things I see that do. I see bugs when I'm anxious, I feel as if I'm eating cardboard when I'm sad, and some of the time I hold normal conversations with people that I later find out where all in my mind. I taste things that aren't in my mouth, hear voices that aren't really there, hallucinate animals, people, bugs and inanimate objects, and sometimes I can be pretty out there in my taste for music, art, etc. You guys know that already!

What does work is the fact that I have a great family who's always there for me. I have great fans who support me in all I do and I can enjoy what I love while reaching out to people from all over the world! That's enough for me any day!

So, how do I do it? Is there help, a way out, ANYTHING!?

Yes, I have a service dog who helps me make sense of the world. He alerts me to what's really going on and lets me know the things that are just in my mind.

I am on medication, I've actually been bounced around on a couple of med's for a while but what I'm taking that I've been on for a while does help keep things from getting too crazy most of the time.

What really makes me happy is that I can share this with you guys, post video's, discussions, and animations that make you smile and share my work with anyone willing to watch and listen! You keep me going! Its because of your support that I can do what I do on my channels! So thank you!
